Communications solution from INVISIO in spy thriller novel by a former CIA agent

11 January 2012 · Press Release

The communications solution INVISIO X50 with the headset X5 from INVISIO is mentioned in the recently published American novel The Detachment, written by former CIA agent Barry Eisler. Eisler worked at CIA's Directorate of Operations for three years and during this period he gathered inspiration for his thrillers about the agent John Rain. In the thriller The Detachment, the methods of the American judicial system is depicted as well as John Rain's adventures around the world.

In one section of book, one of Rain's partners in crime find himself in an emergency situation and need help to retrieve the best communications equipment in order to perform the mission. Kenezaki, a friend of Rain, has a clever solution (page 269):

He knelt and unzipped the other bag. “Here’s your commo,” he said. “INVISIO Digital Ears X5 Headset and X50 Multi-Comm. Hands-fee, in the ear, boom mic.  All encrypted and we’ll all be able to talk to each other.”

That the communications solution from INVISIO is mentioned so specifically is not a product placement from INVISIO, but entirely an initiative by Eisler himself. Probably he became fond of products from INVISIO during his time as a CIA agent, since communications solutions from INVISO are widely used by the most demanding users within the most demanding industries.
